Mind's Workout Programme

Progressive muscle relaxation (PMR) has been widely recognized in clinical research as an effective technique for reducing stress and promoting relaxation. By systematically tensing and then relaxing muscle groups throughout the body, PMR helps individuals become more aware of physical sensations and learn how to release built-up tension. This process not only alleviates physical discomfort but also activates the body’s relaxation response, which can reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression, and insomnia. Research has shown that PMR can lower heart rate, reduce muscle tension, and improve overall emotional well-being.

Through our state-of-the-art Mind’s Workout programme at The Therapy Cafe, we use PMR-based techniques to support emotional regulation and resilience, helping individuals manage stress in healthy ways. Over time, as clients practice PMR in the guided sessions, they can experience significant improvements in mood and behavior, enhancing their ability to cope with daily challenges. The combination of individual counseling and group exercise provides a holistic approach, with the clinician offering personalized support while also facilitating a sense of shared experience within the group.
